My
lamps are entirely handcrafted, featuring painted silk shades. The silk for these shades is stretched on a frame
and is dye painted with bamboo calligraphy brushes. The bases are made from straight stock steel that is bent, welded
and oxidized in a chemical bath to produce rich chocolate brown patinas and is given a final protective acrylic clear coat. Whenever
possible, I recommend the use of CFL light bulbs for the obvious environmental reasons but also because they give off little
heat and therefore allow the use of higher wattage-output bulbs than conventional light bulbs. |
